Jim Cave has worked in all aspects of theater in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past twenty-five years. Focusing on the development of new theater, multi-discipilnary and site-specific performance, Jim has directed and designed plays, dance, dance-theater, opera, new music theater, and even a flea circus (for San Francisco’s Exploratorium). Jim has directed a number of critically acclaimed productions including Bob Ernst’s The John, Seduction with Ruth Zaporah and Leonard Pitt (co-directed with Rinde Eckert); Lauren Elder’s environmental theatrical Surrender; Erling Wold’s chamber operas A Little Girl Dreams of Taking the Veil and Queer adapted from the William S. Burrough text, and Bleinde Liebe.
